17 мая 1945 года, в ходе проекта "Хула", США передали его ВМФ СССР, в составе которого он как Т-522 принимал участие в захвате советскими войсками японской провинции Карафуто на юге острова Сахалин в период с 11 по 25 августа 1945 года.
