Серия строилась на Севастопольском морском заводе им. С. Орджоникидзе (СССР, г.Севастополь).
В 1952-1956 г.г. построено 3 судна: "Паром-1" и "Паром-2" для Севастополя и "Металлист" для Евпатории.
С 1970 года и до конца карьеры "Металлист" также работал в Севастополе.

Тип судна: теплоход, автопассажирский паром.
