HMS Devonshire (D02) был выведен из эксплуатации в 1978 году. Был предложен для продажи Египту , но сделка не состоялась. В течение шести лет в гавани Портсмута корабль использовался для испытания новых крылатых ракет. 17 июля 1984 года был потоплен при испытании торпеды Mark 24-Mod-2 Tigerfish запущенной с подводной лодки Splendid в Северной Атлантике.
