Во время осенне-зимнего ремонта 1967-1968 годов, в порядке эксперимента, вместо главного двигателя 3Д6 был установлен двигатель 3Д20, который испытывался в навигацию 1968 года. В межсезонье 1968-1969 годов 3Д20 был демонтирован и, по аналогии с другими однотипными катерами Ялтинского порта, был установлен главный двигатель 3Д12. После списания название "Кастрополь" было передано ялтинскому катеру "Радуга-9" проекта 485М.
