Верфь De Waard основана в 1852г, куплена братьями Boot в 1877.
В 1963г. верфь продана двумя частями разным владельцам: NV Sleephelling Maatschappij Scheveningen (SMS) и “De Dageraad”, а в 1966г. SMS выкупил все.
В 1979г. обанкротилась. За 100 лет построено около 1500 судов.
