Первая судоверфь "Bijlsma" была открыта в 1903 году в г.Вартен. В 1995 году в г.Леммер начала строиться другая судоверфь "Bijlsma", которая была открыта в 1996 году. В этом же году первая судоверфь в г.Вартен была закрыта и в 2004 году продана.
