Компания Korea Yanase Tong Yeong Shipbuilding была основана в 1994 году под названием Haedong Shipbuilding в городе Тхонъён. После многих лет работы в мае 2001 года она сменила название на SAMHO Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., а в 2013 году стала называться Korea Yanase TongYeong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. На верфи есть два стапельных причала и 250-метровый причальный фронт. Общая площадь предприятия составляет около 73 000 м², на нём работает более 1000 сотрудников. Оно построило более 120 судов, в том числе нефтеналивные и химические танкеры, а также балкеры дедвейтом от 3500 до 37 000 тонн.
