По весу прошло бы, но пришлось бы повышать степень сжатия, и смотрелось бы гораздо хуже, чем при меньшем разрешении.

Я так понимаю, что имеется вввиду формат фотографии 16x9. Чтоб было поменьше неба и воды. Если так, то замечание вполне обоснованно - в "удлинённых" пропорциях фото смотрелось бы гораздо лучше
