В 1972 году произошла авария при спуске теплохода краном с баржи. Судно упало на воду с высоты четырёх метров на ровный киль. Повреждения: остаточная прогибь обоих крыльев, шпангоуты с 17 до кормы имели значительные повреждения. После происшествия судно в эксплуатацию не вводили и списали в 1975 году. После списания Ракету установили на берегу около Пермского речного вокзала, где она простояла до середины лета 2008 года.
