В 1972 году на реке Шексне в результате столкновения с сухогрузным теплоходом Профессор Керичев был пробит левый борт, повреждены 3-й и 8-й грузовые танки и произошло возгорание вытекшей нефти. В результате объёмного пожара погибли 16 человек экипажа теплохода "Профессор Керичев".
В 2007 году модернизировано на класс плавания «М-ПР» по проекту 1577/210-MEB.
