Серпуховский затон - самая верхняя точка судоходства по Наре. Расположен в 2 км от реки Оки. Свою историю он ведёт с 1901 года, когда для поддержания глубин в 100 километрах ниже Серпухова на Акатьевском перекате (863,0 - 866,0 км) реки Оки были построены шесть полузапруд из каменной наброски. Эти запруды у правого берега сохранились до нашего времени (на карте хорошо просматриваются ниже устья р. Осётр - https://yandex.ru/maps/-/CDS06CLB). С этого времени началось регулярное судоходство по Верхней Оки от села Щурово (ныне - Коломна) до города Калуги.

В непосредственной близости с затоном расположена одна из древнейших обителей Подмосковья - Введенский Владычный монастырь (https://vizit-tour.com/upload/iblock/0a5...5e3.jpg), основанный в 1360 году святителем Алексием, митрополитом Московским.
