22 марта 2008 в Южно-Китайском море, недалеко от порта Гонконг, произошло столкновение судна Нефтегаз-67 и контейнеровоза Yao Hai. Удар пришёлся в районе машинного отделения под углом в 90 градусов. В результате пробоины в Нефтегаз-67 начала поступать вода и в течении 2 минут судно затонуло. Из 24 человек экипажа спасено лишь 7 (6 граждане Украины и 1 гражданка КНР). Судно было поднято 27 марта 2008 года.
