Судно было построено в 1903 году. Экипажем из 8 человек несли вахту в районе Евлы в периоды, свободные от льда. В 1960-х в связи с заменой обслуживаемых маяков на автоматические, аналогичные корабли выводились в резерв. В 1969 году Finngrundet был выведен из эксплуатации и занял место на музейной стоянке.
