Второй из двух броненосных крейсеров типа "Vettor Pisani". К началу ПМВ крейсер устарел, почти всю войну простоял в Венеции. В 1917 корабль начали переоборудовать в Таранто в транспорт для перевозки войск. Для этого пришлось снять броню, добавить новую палубу и внести внутренние изменения. 4 апреля 1918 вновь введен в эксплуатацию под новым названием "Zenson".
