По Северному морскому пути переведён на Тихий океан и 11.10.1937 г. вошел в состав ТОФ. Вооружён (3×130 мм, 2×76,2 мм пулемёты) и переоборудован в минный заградитель. Участвовал в минных постановках в районе Петропавловска-Камчатского 10.08.1945 г., высадке десанта в Сейсин, Курильской десантной операции. 26.08.1945 г. удостоен гвардейского звания. 27.09.1945 г. разоружён и переформирован в гидрографическое судно.
