29 января 1975 года сгорел в Норвежском море. Основной причиной пожара правительственная комиссия определит возгорание в каюте третьего механика вследствие оставленного окурка в урне, где находилась промасленная ветошь. К трагическим последствиям привели несвоевременное обнаружение пожара и оповещение о нем. Погибло десять человек.
