Серия B-170(более 30 шт.) была построена с 1990-х годов до 2008 года для различных немецких и зарубежных судоходных компаний. Проект судна восходит к контейнерному судну типа RW 49, построенному на верфи Rickmers Werft в середине 1980-х годов.
