В 2002 году сухогрузный теплоход переоборудован в нефтеналивной танкер по проекту 05074Т на судоверфи "Дон-Кассенс".
В 2019 году перестроен в сухогрузное судно по проекту RSD22.
В 2020 переименован в честь Евгения Михайловича Матвеева — волжского капитана и диспетчера.
