Очень непонятная логика названия у "птичек"! Ну, "Снегирь-1" и "Снегирь-2" - понятно. Но почему во множественном числе?

Подмосковный посёлок и ЖД станция "Снегири" вроде не настолько знаковый НП, чтоб в честь него называть суда.
Кстати, на старом деревянном здании вокзала, ещё с советских времён, много лет красовалось название: "СнИгири". :-)

Про значимость данного водного объекта ничего сказать не могу. Но, река всё-таки...

Есть правда ещё вариант, что в Московском бассейне уже есть один Снегирь http://fleetphoto.ru/vessel/1236/, а по правилам в одном бассейне двух судов с одинаковыми названиями быть не может (Россия (борт №1) и Россия (пр. 301) - это исключение). Другое дело, что "Снегирь-1", а уж тем более "Снегирь-2" - это уже "другие" названия.
