В четверг, 30 декабря, новый ледокол «Илья Муромец» пополнил состав Военно-морского флота России. На судне прошла торжественная церемония поднятия флага вспомогательного флота. Планируется, что уже в декабре ледокол отправится на Северный флот.
Стоит отметить, что это первый ледокол, переданный вспомогательному флоту за более чем сорок лет. Его портом базирования будет Мурманск.
