28 января 2009 года на траулере "Экарма-7", находившемся на промысле в 170 километрах к западу от мыса Лопатка в точке с координатами 51°28' северной широты и 154°15' восточной долготы, возник пожар. Загорелась картонная тара для упаковки рыбы. Потушить огонь силами экипажа не удалось. Был подал сигнал бедствия. Подошедшими судами была эвакуирована часть экипажа и начата буксировка судна. На траулере полностью выгорел рыбный цех. Пострадавших нет.
