Сначала приезжает специальная компания и по трафаретам красят, а затем силами экипажа каждый год обновляют уже готовый рисунок. Более точно Александр Сергеевич подскажет.

Да, верно. Внешнее оформление судна готовит дизайнер, затем под утверждённый дизайн делаются трафареты, они используются для ежегодной окраски судов в основном силами экипажей.
