И. вошёл в бригаду опытных кораблей, специально созданных для обеспечения ядерных испытаний на Новой Земле.[7] Для участия в испытаниях на корабле была смонтирована регистрирующая аппаратура. В настоящее время находится в полузатопленном состоянии в Бухте Черная на Новой Земле
