Кран был построен в США в 1943 году. Как он попал в Сталинград, точно не известно. Может быть по каналам ленд-лиза, а может как-то ещё. На понтоне и сейчас можно разглядеть полустёртую надпись US ARMY! В этом году реликвии исполняется 70 лет. В Волгограде 2 таких плавкрана. Второй называется КПЛ-3492 http://fleetphoto.ru/photo/56707/
