10 июля 2011 года дизель-электроход затонул в Куйбышевском водохранилище в районе Камского Устья. Погибли 122 человека.

Ну очевидно, в связи с тем, что теплоход был передан в Татарстан - собственно, был назван в честь государства волжских булгар - прародителей современного татарского народа.
