Построен в 1938-1939 гг.в Германии для обслуживания немецкого линкора "Тирпиц". После окончания 2МВ достался СССР как трофей, находился в затопленном виде.
Поднят и отбуксирован для использования на морзаводе в Кронштадте. В середине 50-х гг. возникли планы перевода плавдока на Черное море.
27.06.-28.08.1961г. док буксировался танкером "Пекин" и группой буксиров в Ильичевск.

У Бакальской номер по регистрам 990, у этой 3991. Некоторое сходство есть, хотя если верить регистру, то с нумерацией на этой верфи ад кромешный.

С заводской нумерацией в Регистрах конечно бывает всякое, но несистемно и чаще просто в сторону упрощения.
В данном случае Регистр ни при чем - на этой верфи с нумерацией действительно полный бред. У соседних однотипных судов номера с разным количеством знаков, непонятные цифры добавляются к числу как слева, так и справа. И с годами это все дошло до неподдающихся никакой расшифровке 7-значных и 8-значных строительных номеров.
