Серия строилась на судоверфи "Warnowwerft" (ГДР, г.Варнемюнде).

Всего в 1978-1985 г.г. построено 13 судов, из которых:
1 — для государственного морского пароходства ГДР "Deutfracht Seereederei" (г.Росток);
12 — на экспорт в Грецию (4 ед.), Того (4 ед.), Кипр (1 ед.), Сингапур (2 ед.), Либерию (1 ед.).

В 1986 году три уже действующих судна серии были куплены Судоимпортом СССР для
Черноморского морского пароходства ММФ СССР (порт приписки Одесса) и переименованы:

241. FANEOS — ГРИГОРИЙ КОЗИНЦЕВ, 1979, IMO 7706835.
242. FILON — ПЁТР АЛЕЙНИКОВ, 1980, IMO 7706847.
246. ATHENIAN SPIRIT — ВАЛЕНТИН ЗОЛОТАРЁВ, 1983, IMO 8120832.
