Построен корабельным инженером А. С. Акимовым для плавания по Азовскому морю, две машины завода Берда с парохода "Одесса", один железный паровой котел, построенный в Одессе. Владелец — Новороссийская экспедиция. "Митридат" плавал недолго: около пяти лет и уже к 1 января 1845 г. стоял на приколе в Практической гавани Одессы.
