«Князь Меньшиков» (первый) был первым морским пассажирским пароходом в Финляндии. Он курсировал по маршруту между Санкт-Петербургом, Ревелем, Хельсинки (Гельсингфорсом), Турку (Або) и Стокгольмом. 35-метровое судно начало курсировать в 1837 году. Судно было спроектировано шведским кораблестроителем фон Сюдовым (von Sydow) и построено в Турку. Его паровая машина мощностью 90 лошадиных сил (67 кВт) была изготовлена на верфи Motala Verkstad.
