Теплоход "Макс Гельц" 2.11.1938 г. захвачен франкистами, конфискован и включен в состав торгового флота Испании под названием "Castillo Montealegre". Потоплен подводной лодкой (возможно итальянской ARCHIMEDE), 8 апреля 1943, в координатах 09.46N-16.50W, рейс Fernando Po — Valencia.
