13 января 2018 года была завершена крупная модернизация судна под перевозку зерна по проекту 964 (проект 1565 типа «Волго-Дон» после укорочения) путем подъема комингсов грузовых люков. Работы были выполнены на верфи Гидродинамик (Тузла, Турция). В результате модернизации объем грузовых трюмов увеличился с 3955 куб. м до 4541 куб. м (т.е., на 586 куб. м или на 15%), что улучшило грузоподъемность судна при перевозке зерна (при осадке 3,60 м дедвейт составляет 3375 тонн, при 100 тонн запасов спецификационный УПО увеличился до 1,39 куб. м/т). При этом существенно вырос стандарт общей прочности.
