30.06.1974 года т/х "М.Калинин" под управлением 1го штурмана Дмитриева В.П. следовал вверх по р.Обь очередным рейсом с туристами на борту.
В 6 часов теплоход подходил к участку реки у пос.Каленак, затянутому полосой тумана. При заступлении на вахту Дмитриева капитан теплохода Личман М.С. дал ему указание, чтобы он при появлении тумана прекратил движение. Однако штурман Дмитриев, не остановился, а продолжал следовать полным ходом.
В это же время сверху вдоль Каленакского яра шёл т/х ОТ-2010 с толкаемым большегрузным составом по левой стороне судового хода. Управлял составом капитан Черепанов В.П., вызванный на мостик вахтенным штурманом Никулиным В.Н. при появлении тумана.
Судоводители обоих судов шли в тумане с применением радиолокаторов, но без подачи звуковых сигналов и другими нарушениями правил плавания, Устава службы, а также Руководства по применению РЛС, не оповещая по радоистанции "Кама-С" другие суда о своём движении.
В этих сложных метеорологических условиях, встречные суда обнаружили друг друга по радиолокаторам на расстоянии около 400 метров и, не достигнув договоренности о расхождении, пытались разойтись правыми бортами, в результате чего допустили столкновение с большими повреждениями корпуса т/х "М.Калинин".
В зимний судоремонт 2017/2018 гг. главные двигатели модели 8NVD36-1U (мощность 2х300 кВт) заменены на главные двигатели модели R6160ZC450 (мощностью 2х330 кВт), два дизель-генератора модели 4NVD26-2 (мощность каждого 98 кВт) заменены на модель CCFJ120J-WV (мощность каждого 120 кВт).

Хотя у рядом стоящих на зимнем отстое флота однотипных с ним судов практикуется и более мрачная окраска http://fleetphoto.ru/photo/127051/?vid=4080 Я все "побаивался", что такая "мода" может и на это судно перейти..., но пока Бог миловал!... Белоснежный все-таки действительно красиво! Только бы "петухов" всяческих на корпусе не сподобились рисовать как у некоторых его собратьев в европейской части России....
"Б-16" неправильно привязана: на заднем плане - баржа проекта 183БМ (http://fleetphoto.ru/vessel/20778/), а не брандвахта проекта Р-140, приписанная к Москве.
