В 2021 году данный участок возможно уже будет частью Сормовского водохранилища . Из газеты "Волго-Невский проспект" №18 2018г - Вновь создаваемое водохранилище с рабочим названием
Сормовское будет занимать часть территории
Балахнинского и Городецкого районов Нижегородской
области. Его протяженность по основному руслу реки
— 41 километр, по оси судового хода от Городецких
шлюзов № 15—16 до створа проектируемого гидроузла
— около 38 километров, проектная площадь — 52,6
квадратных километра
