Первоначально заложено на Рыбинском судостроительном заводе. В 1992 году получило название "Механик Солкин", к этому времени был частично построен корпус. В 1996 году недостроенное судно было продано на Украину и отбуксировано в Ильичевск для дальнейшей достройки. Судно получило новые немецкие двигатели марки TBD 616 V12 мощностью 720 кВт каждый. В 2006 году неукомплектованное судно снова продаётся и окончательно достраивается в России в 2007 году.
